Freesia flowers are admired for their vibrant, trumpet-shaped blossoms and sweet, citrusy fragrance, making them popular in perfumes and bouquets. Native to South Africa and belonging to the Iris family (Iridaceae), they grow on slender, upright stems about 30-45 centimetres long, with flowers arranged in neat rows called a ‘comb’. These flowers come in a variety of colours including white, yellow, orange, red, pink, and purple, and can be single, semi-double, or double-flowered. Their unique shape, beautiful colours, and lovely scent have made them a favourite for weddings and home decor.
